Liza's Story
Liza vs. Leukemia Inc. is a nonprofit organization that has been recognized to the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible, tax-exempt organization, founded in 2021 in honor of Myliza’s fight against pediatric cancer.

When the Madison family learned that Myliza, their second 4-month-old daughter, had cancer—a rare and aggressive form of leukemia known as infant leukemia—their entire world was flipped upside down. Seven months of inpatient treatment were part of the treatment plan. Sadly, plans for cancer treatment don’t always work out as expected. After two months of inpatient treatment, Myliza relapsed in her central nervous system, which prompted a drastic change in treatment: Car-T cell therapy and bone marrow transplant (dad was the best match). Myliza experienced thrombotic microangiopathy, a rare complication, after receiving a bone marrow transplant. It was up to God to perform a miracle for her to survive.

Where is Myliza now?
We are happy to report that Myliza is 3.5 years old and recently celebrated her 2-year post-bone marrow transplant birthday. Although she is currently undergoing treatment for kidney damage from the TMA condition, she is a thriving ballerina with a magnetic personality. The Madison family is seeking to pray it forward and walk alongside those who are navigating through the challenges that cancer and other life-threatening illnesses bring.

Liza means “God’s promise” in Hebrew. God assures us that He will protect our eternal life. Any evil in this world will be surpassed by His promise. The non-profit Liza vs. Leukemia Foundation was established to spread awareness of this promise while supporting cancer warriors as they face the difficult emotional, spiritual, and financial obstacles that accompany any life-threatening diagnosis. ♡
